Cecilia has been in the events, marketing and communications industry for over 15 years. She has built brand strategies and managed tours for international celebrities, worked with non-profit organizations on fundraising & development, and designed red carpet, music, beauty, non-profit, and international events.
Cecilia holds two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where she focused on Entrepreneurship, Marketing, International Policy, Non-Profit Leadership, Education Policy and Urban Studies. She is a board member of the Association of Latino Alumni and active member of the James Brister Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. in 2015, Cecilia was presented with the National Football League's Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award by the Philadelphia Eagles. A moving speaker, Cecilia addresses diverse audiences frequently to discuss entrepreneurship, overcoming adversity and the importance of multiculturalism in education. Cecilia has two published works regarding social innovation and racial identity in schools.
Having worked in the corporate, non-profit, entertainment and education sectors, Cecilia's experiences are wide and unique. Prior to founding CLA, Cecilia began her career in the classroom as a 4th grade teacher in the South Bronx via Teach for America. After, she continued her passion for education as the Program Director for International Educational Programming for the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia where she worked closely with the School District of Philadelphia and Bodine High School for International Affairs and discovered her passion for marketing, events and communications. While pursuing a Master's degree, Cecilia was the Director of Events for the Falls Banquet Conference Center. She then became the Multicultural Outreach and Events Director for the University of Pennsylvania. It was during this time that she discovered a need for combined marketing, events, and communications strategy services and began C-Luxe.
Cecilia is a native New Yorker and has lived in Philadelphia, Massachusetts, Spain, France and currently, Atlanta. She lives with her partner and two sons. She loves running, public speaking and blogging!

Javier is a seasoned entrepreneur and proud Philadelphia native. He is the founder and Executive Producer of the Hispanic Choice Awards, an annual high-end televised production honoring Latino professionals in the Philadelphia region and the largest Latino event in the tri-state area.
In 2014, Javier was honored with the Minority Business Leader Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal. He also received the 2014 "Brillante Award" for Entrepreneurial Excellence by NSHMBA, the National Society of Hispanic MBA's, during their national convention in Philadelphia. In 2010 and 2007, Javier was named "Most Influential Latino" in Philadelphia by Impacto Newspaper and the Multicultural Affairs Congress (now PHL Diversity).
Javier is the former President and CEO of Philadelphia's Hispanic Yellow Pages, (2001-2011) the region's most widely circulated publication in the Latin market. Javier was also the Executive Producer of the largest outdoor Latin music festival, Festival de las Americas, from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, Javier worked in radio broadcasting from 1987 to 1996- with several stations including WXTU 92.5 FM (country), WWDB 96.5 FM (talk radio) and WTEL 860 AM (Latin).
He is an active community member and serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia chapter of ALPFA- the Association of Latino Professionals for America. He is also a board member of PHL Diversity, a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau. He holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from La Salle University.
Javier is proud to be of Colombian descent, and he enjoys walking or rollerblading through the streets of Philly, traveling and all things music!
